Michael Woods practises orthodontics for children and adults, using the best of current diagnostic and treatment methods - constantly looking for ways in which patient treatment methods can be improved. His staff have created an atmosphere of trust, comfort and care for patients of all ages. He is well-known for pursuing the best overall dental and facial result for each individual patient in his care - also taking long-term responsibility for the outcomes of his treatment. This is most unusual in the present day. All treatment decisions in our practice are made by Dr Woods, himself.
Dr Woods recieved Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees from the University of Melbourne and a number of other Fellowships and Certificates from important British and American institutions and associations. He is currently the consultant orthodontist for oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (teaching surgery residents and orthodontic graduate students) and was previously Professor and Chair of Orthodontics at the University of Melbourne - having been responsible for the education of more than fifty of Victoria's orthodontists. In 2008, he was awarded the Australian Societ of Orthodontists' Distinguished Service Medal.
Dr Woods has given more than 100 invited clinical and research presentations around the world and has also contributed more than 100 articles to the peer-reviewed international literature in his field. Apart from clinical practice and teaching, Dr Woods enjoys family time with his wife and daughters, playing golf and music and watching all sports - especially the Collingwood Football Club!
